Motorists asked to be patient with wide loads

Motorists are asked to be patient as Premier Coal transports essential equipment to its Collie operations over the next week.

A refurbished water truck is scheduled to be transported from Picton to the coal mine, just east of Collie on Tuesday 13 December, via South Western Highway and Coalfields Highway.

The oversized, police-escorted load is scheduled to make the journey between 8am and 10am, avoiding peak travel times.

Another eight oversized, police-escorted loads are scheduled to travel from the Perth metropolitan area to the Premier mine via South Western Highway and Coalfields Highway on Saturday, 17 December.

Four loads will each contain the cab of a large haul truck, with the remaining four carrying the trucks’ trays. Four non-escorted vehicles will transport the vehicles’ tyres.

Premier Coal General Manager Glenn Burlinson thanked local road users for their patience and understanding, advising every effort was being made to minimise the impact on the travelling public.
